Beyond the Wallet: Finding Abundance in the Clock
We've explored how the question "Do you got money?" often reveals a deeper spiritual struggle with scarcity. We've laid out the Blueprint for Plenty and learned how to apply a Prosperity Mindset even to our financial budgets, transforming them from acts of fear to acts of faith and stewardship.
But the adversary's lie of scarcity isn't limited to our bank accounts. It invades another, equally precious resource, one that every single one of us, regardless of income, claims to lack: Time.
How often do you say, "I just don't have enough time!"?
This cry of "no time" is the temporal equivalent of "no money." It's the lie that we must constantly earn our rest, justify our leisure, or that our worth is tied to our endless productivity. Just as Satan wants to control you through your fear of lacking money, he also wants to control you through the relentless pressure of having not enough time.
Your Most Valuable Currency: Consecrating Your Time
Time is arguably our most valuable currency because, unlike money, it cannot be saved, invested for interest, or recovered once spent. It simply flows. The Law of Consecration, therefore, applies just as powerfully to our minutes and hours as it does to our dollars.
To find abundance in the clock, we must make a conscious covenant to Consecrate Our Time.
The Tyranny of the Urgent: How Scarcity Invades Your Schedule
When we operate under a scarcity mindset for time, we constantly feel:
- Overwhelmed: A never-ending to-do list, always feeling behind.
- Guilty: For resting, for playing, for not being "productive."
- Stressed: Rushing from one thing to the next, never fully present.
- Disconnected: Relationships suffer because we "don't have time" for deep connection.
This is the adversary's triumph in the temporal realm: making us so busy, so harried, so focused on the next thing, that we lose the ability to connect with God, serve our neighbor, or even enjoy the present blessings He has given us.
Applying the Three Covenants to Your Time
The same covenants that liberate our finances can liberate our schedules:
- Consecrate Your Focus: The Tithe of Time.
- Just as we give God the first thoughts of our day, we must give Him the first moments of our day. This means dedicating 10, 15, or 30 minutes to prayer, scripture, meditation, or quiet reflection before you dive into emails, chores, or the news. This "Tithe of Time" sets the tone, reminding your soul who is truly in control of your day, shifting your focus from urgency to divine purpose.
- Consecrate Your Desire: Do What Matters.
- The worldly desire for time is to "do everything." The heavenly desire for time is to "do what matters." This means intentionally discerning your priorities. Before adding another task to your plate, ask yourself: Does this truly serve my highest purpose and values? Is this feeding my soul's growth, or simply trying to impress the world or alleviate a false sense of urgency?
- Consecrate Your Gift: The Present Moment.
- This is perhaps the most profound way to consecrate your time. When you are with someone, or engaged in a task, or even simply enjoying a quiet moment, give your full, undivided attention. Put away the phone. Silence the distractions. The greatest gift of time you can give is your presence. This act of mindful engagement declares that this moment, and the people in it, are valuable enough for your consecrated gift.
Living in the Abundance of This Moment
When you consciously choose to consecrate your time, you stop being a slave to the clock and become a master of your moments. You discover that "not enough time" is largely an illusion fostered by misaligned focus and desires.
You'll find that by giving God the first moments, by choosing what truly matters, and by being fully present, your hours expand in quality, if not always in quantity. You experience a deep sense of peace and productivity that comes from operating in alignment with divine abundance.
Stop letting the clock dictate your peace. Start consecrating your time, moment by sacred moment, and discover the profound abundance that truly exists in every ticking second.
What is one specific way you will consecrate your time this week—either by giving God the first moments, discerning a key priority, or giving your full presence to someone? Share your commitment!
